Neither one is a particularly good lens. The Canon versions would be much better especially if you get the IS versions.
That said the 18-200 is probably the most versatile lens in that it goes from wide angle to telephoto.
Personally I feel you would be better off getting the Camera with the Canon 18-55mm IS lens and then getting the Canon EFs 55-250 IS lens. The 18-55mm lens is pretty cheap especially when purchased as a kit with the camera. The 55-250mm IS lens costs about $250 and is better than either of the Tamron lenses.

All lenses have compromises in their design the more zoom range a lens has the more compromises there are, so the 18 – 200mm lens (11X zoom range (200/18)). will have poorer image quality than the 70 – 300mm lens (4X zoom range (300/70)).
On top of that the wide range zooms usually have smaller maximum aperture (its one of the compromises) so that means its a bright day lens, the image in the viewfinder will be so dim the auto focus will just ‘hunt’ when the light is low.
The Sigma 70 – 300mm APO lens is more expensive than the Tamron, but build quality is better and the lens can focus closer at all zoom settings, making the lens a very useful pseudo Macro.

depends on what you are looking to use it for. personally, i would use the 18-55 IS kit lens and get a 55-250 IS as that is a little better than the 70-300 since handholding a 70-300 will lead to shake when it is zoomed out, the 18-55 and the 55-250 would make a nice little package and you would benefit from the IS through the ranges. The 18-200 isn’t a bad lens but personally not a fan of the megazoom lenses as they tend to suffer from trying to do too much while maintaining a reasonable size.
The EF-S 18-200mm F3.5-5.6 IS is a lens which many Canon users have been waiting for with great anticipation, as an ideal ‘all-in-one’ lens for travel and ‘walkaround’ use.
