Can I Return A Camera Package From Walmart Even Though I Opened Everything And Used It Once?

by Siew Ing on June 28, 2009

The memory card and camera case came separately from the camera, and I opened and used everything.

Would I still be able to return it for a refund?

You may read the Walmart returns policy. Some policies are extract from Walmart website.

What’s the Walmart Stores returns policy?
Most store items can be exchanged or refunded with a receipt within 90 days of purchase. Visit walmartstores.com to see exceptions for electronic and regulated items.

What’s Walmart’s No Receipt returns policy?
Walmart’s No Receipt policy applies to items returned in a store only. You have the option of a cash refund (for purchases under $25), a Gift Card for the amount of the purchase (for purchases over $25) or an even exchange for the product. We also follow any manufacturer’s warranties. You can make up to three No Receipt returns within a 45 day period.

Can I return my Walmart.com purchase to a Walmart store?
All merchandise sold and shipped by Walmart.com may be returned to a store within 90 days of receiving it, unless otherwise noted in the Return Guidelines by Department chart below. For items sold by a Marketplace Retailer, contact the retailer directly.

Can I get my shipping cost refunded?
If there is an error on our part related to your order, we will issue a credit for your order and any applicable shipping and gift-wrapping charges.

Do I need to return the item in its original packaging?
An item must be returned in the original manufacturer’s packaging, so we recommend you keep your packaging for at least the first 90 days after purchase.

Yes, you can return it. If it’s defective then you won’t be charged a restocking fee but if it’s fine you’ll be charged a 15% restocking fee. Don’t try to lie about it being defective, they’re not stupid. Also, if you exchange for a camera that’s close to the same price range or higher, they should waive the fee.

It probably depends on how long ago they were purchased and exactly why you’re returning them (is something damaged?). Check the receipt and see what it says about the return policy, and if your issue isn’t covered, call the store and ask.

If there is nothing wrong with it, they’ll probably charge you a restocking fee. Look on their site for their policy on returns.
