I have a Canon Rebel XS and am looking for a new standard zoom and wide angle all around lense. I’ve looked at some Canon lenses as well as Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina, but I don’t know what I should go with, or if there are other better brands. Here’s what I know I want:
1.) 18mm or less than to 75mm or greater than.
2.) Image stabilization
3.) Manual and auto focus
4.) Preferably $550 or less.
I’m looking for a great quality lense, but the thing I care the most about is image quality. Please give me as many lense models/manufactures as possible. Thanks!

I have the Canon Powershot SX 100 IS camera. And I am stuck between which case to buy for it. Should it be
a) Canon DCC 700 Soft Case (the one which Canon sells for this camera)
b) Lowepro Apex 60 AW (the size that fits all Powershot from Canon)
c) Lowepro Apex 100 AW (looks a little big for powershot
I am undecided between Canon and Lowepro
and if Lowepro, then between 60 and 100 AW for the best fit.

i am sort of new to photography using dslrs, and i plan on using my camera for blogging food (going to restaurants, bakeries, cafes, shooting pictures of food, lots of closeups, dim lighting, etc)
my choices were the canon eos 40d, the canon eos 20d, canon eos rebel xsi or the canon eos rebel xti
also, which lense would be better for what i’m doing? a sigma 18-50mm F2.8 or a canon 50mm f/1.4?
